The Founder and Executive Director of Sickle Cell Advocacy and Management Initiative (SAMI), Toyin Adesola, who have been a sickle cell warrior for 54 years called Mr. Alfred Ade-Ijimakinwa of BusinessIQ Philanthropy and invited him to her office for a meeting.

The meeting led to a partnership between SAMI and BusinessIQ Philanthropy. The partnership was for SAMI to empower some of the sickle cell warriors through BusinessIQ Philanthropy. Mr. Alfred Ade-Ijimakinwa engaged three of the sickle cell warriors in a discussion to help them understand how to manage successful business and what business will be appropriate for them because of their fragile health. One of them who is a student has been empowered to start a hair styling business. The two others are ongoing project under BusinessIQ Philanthropy.
